Francisco J. Contreras, AICP, is the Innovation and Strategic Initiatives Manager for the City of West Hollywood, CA. He leads the City of West Hollywood’s WeHoX Innovation and Technology Program to enhance the City’s capacity to utilize new and emerging technologies and innovations for the benefit of its residents, visitors and local businesses.

He recently launched the City of West Hollywood’s first-ever Innovations Annual Report which offers a blueprint to promote local democracy and increase civic engagement, promote efficiency and effectiveness in government, and promote the local innovation economy through civic and tech innovation.

Francisco has a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Studies from Stanford University and dual Master’s Degrees in Architecture and Urban Planning from UCLA. He has an Advanced Software Technologies Certification (Web Application Development) from the University of California Irvine, Extension and an Engineering and Architectural AutoCAD Certification from California State University Long Beach, Extension.

Francisco serves on the APA AICP Membership Standards Committee and is a member of the Glassell Park Neighborhood Council in Los Angeles CA.
